Paradise Lost ¬
While the modern artist was primarily looking for his ego and pursued a subjective way of expressi-ons, the artist of the 21st century is looking for the world itself. He is no longer concerned solely with introspection and self-disclosure but with the understanding, acquiring and exploring his environ-ment and surroundings. In this context social systems, but also scientific structures and research methods appear as a new frame of reference. They are devoted to acquisition and archiving, documentation and interpretati-on of global and regional phenomena in nature, cul-ture and civilization landscape. The link of art and science, connected with the use of new technologies develops new perspectives on our origin and future. Under the title Paradise Lost, according to John Miltons 1667 publicated elegiac to the expulsion from the garden eden, the exhibition in the Museum Villa Rot shows selected artistic positions that deal with the consequences of human activities on the environment. In this regard the value and the change, the risk as well as the care of creation are in the focus of attention. : The reason for the exhibition project at the Museum Villa Rot is the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, which happened 30 years ago,as well as the disaster of Fukushima which took place in 2011.
